Son wakes up at 12:20am
He refuses to go back to sleep
Fuck yous and Fuck offs
Spout throughout the air
Tried getting him to sleep in my bed
Tried getting him to sleep on couch
Tried getting him to sleep in his bed
All he did was scream and cuss
Kicking holes in the walls
Jumping off furniture
Throwing everything in reach
Next 9 hours of pure hell
Finally off to his dad's
Where he falls asleep soundly
Fucking figures
I try to nap only to have my chatterbox
Interrupting me consistently.

A day where my son is needy
When I have things to do
I don't get anything done
Except entertain him
Nothing seems to please
Irritability on the rise.

Up and going at 4:30 thanks to my son
Allows for the turkey to get cooking
Morning spent cleaning and prepping
Soon family begins to arrive
Enjoying a successful dinner
Aside from my son's occasional outbursts
Family photos taken and chatting
A few games of scrabble
Then away they all go
Left to clean a kitchen and house
With one child off to her dads
And the cranky one left home.

Thankful to still have my sister with me this holiday season
Thankful to my nephew for being strong and supportive
Thankful to still have at least on of my parents still alive
Thankful for the friends who take the time to listen
Thankful for my kids who teach me about love and understanding
Thankful for the roof over my head and the jobs which keeps it there
Thankful for those who pull me up when I can't do it myself
And thankful today I can stay in my pajamas all day

Work meeting over lunch
To discuss all I do wrong
And why assistant manager means nothing
An afternoon meeting with clients
More for a programmer than me
And yet required to stay an hour late

Ex picks up the kids from grandma
To bring my daughter home to me
Motor blows leaving them stranded
Was it wrong to smile and chuckle?
